ONdigital announces sales team appointments

ONdigital, the world's first digital terrestrial pay television service has established its sales and account management team with eight new appointments. This highly experienced team will guide retailers through all aspects of the ONdigital subscription package and technology. The team report to Doug Goodwin, ONdigital's director of sales.

Stuart Askey, David Oxendale, Nick Vale and Angela Clements have been appointed as national account managers. Stuart Askey will hold specific responsibility for mail order services, key accounts (North) and key independents. Stuart joins ONdigital from Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd with over 13 years of relevant industry experience. He has also worked for Amstrad and Martin Dawes Communications. David Oxendale will manage relationships with electrical multiples. He joins from JVC and has a wide level of experience with all UK retailers particularly within the brown goods sector. Nick Vale joins ONdigital from BSkyB. Nick will be directly responsible for major multiples and rental organisations. Angela Clements will manage ONdigital's distribution channel and independent retailers. She brings with her ten years experience in the cellular phone industry having worked at both Nokia and Bosch.

Area manager appointments are Stephen McGhee, Claire Shaw and Gareth Lewis. Stephen McGhee will hold account management responsibilities for retailers throughout Scotland. A former account manager for JVC, Stephen has extensive expertise in handling major and regional multiple accounts. Claire Shaw, ONdigital's area manager for the South has extensive experience of dealing with independent retailers having spent five years in publishing, producing Timecode (the video industry's trade bible) and the X magazine, the definitive consumer magazine for computer games rental.

Gareth Lewis, joins as ONdigital's area manager for the Midlands. He brings with him a wealth of commercial experience from both the interactive software market as well as the publishing and printing industry. Emma Higgs completes the team as ONdigital's national training manager. Her role will be to oversee a comprehensive training and merchandising programme which will be rolled out region by region over the coming months. Emma has over 10 years of training experience, most recently as UK Training Manager for Compaq Computer Ltd.
